Starting situation

The startup Yobst plans to open a self-service container in July 2024 where consumers can purchase agricultural products directly from producers.

Project objective

The goal was to conceptualize and design a product ecosystem that encompasses all aspects of the customer journey, from sales software for farmers to the landing page and the point-of-sale system.

Result

A research-based, methodical approach that offers a high degree of flexibility in response to project requirements, in order to meet the needs of the target group—producers and consumers—as well as the agile project structure of a startup environment.

Our responsibilities

Kick-off workshop

During a kick-off workshop, we gathered all stakeholder requirements and defined proto-personas and usage contexts, which form the basis for our design. The goal of the project was therefore to conduct targeted testing of different versions of the homepage and donation pages in order to make sound, user-centered decisions regarding future communication.

Sales software

Based on the user requirements we developed, we designed a sales solution for the farms that was intended to make it easier for them to manage their own operations as well as their communication and logistics with Yobsti. These designs and prototypes were then tested with farmers.

Website and design library

For end-user communication, in addition to a landing page and a blog, we also developed a comprehensive design library based on the framework used, as well as a matching icon set.

Point-of-sale system and signage

For the on-site store container, we designed the self-service checkout system as well as price tags and on-site brand communication.
